Introducing: Drumming!

Meet Mr. Jonathan Marks!

Mr. Jonathan is our wonderful drumming teaching artist. He's been drumming for 27 years and has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Theory and Composition from Princeton (wow, he really knows what he's doing!) He also had the chance to study music in Ghana and learned a lot about EWE (West African Drumming) - and this is actually what he is teaching our awesome students this summer! Currently, he is playing music with his own two projects, Hey Champ and Monakr, and also plays jazz with groups all around Chicago.

Fun Fact: Even though Mr. Jonathan was born in Chicago, his parents are from the south so he is quite versed in Cajun cooking! He is also obsessed with West Highland Terriers.

We can't wait to see the fantastic work he's doing with our summer camp students this year!
