Hello parents! First month into our programming and a lot of beautiful things are in the works!

This blog post serves for a few announcements:

Feel free to check out our CCAP wall outside of BASA. It currently features images and student work!

We still have space for enrollment in the following classes:

-West African Dance, with Ms. Keyierra Collins, Grades 3rd-5th, Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:45-5:45 PM.

-Creative Writing and Poetry, with Mr. Timothy Rey, Grades 6th -8th Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:45-5:45 PM.

-Studio BE Show Choir with Jojo Brown and Ms. Amy, Grades 3rd-8th Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-5:45 PM.

Additionally, CCAP has added a new class offering for our K-2 class groups, Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:45-5:45 PM! Please view the description below:

Title of Class:

Youth Mixed- Media Art Class (K- 2nd grade)

Focus area or “big idea”:

The area of focus is drawing and painting. This class provides an introduction to the basic materials, methods, and principles of drawing and painting. As students create multimedia projects, they will gain an understanding of fundamental drawing and painting concepts: line, shape, form, value, texture, composition, proportion, perspective and color. Students will create Mondrian inspired work, contribute to an artist community fruit tree, create a Fall inspired mobile art piece, paint the inspirations of their everyday world, take a closer look at themselves with self-portraiture, create papier-mâché castles, and end off with personal memory based dioramas!
